It is important for families making cremation arrangements to plan a meaningful farewell to their loved ones. Families have relied on the comforting rituals and ceremonies of funeral and memorial services throughout the ages. Funeral services are an important part of the grieving process. A funeral service helps us to remember the person who died and encourages us to share those memories with others. It offers a time and place for us to talk about the life and death of the deceased. The funeral service is also a celebration of the deceased person’s life and helps to reflect their individual contributions to family and society. A funeral service also provides a social support system for the family and other mourners. Having a visitation/reception or viewing is also an important part of the grieving and healing processes. It allows the family to see their loved one at peace and to say their final good bye’s.

Cremation services range from a direct cremation with no attendant service to a memorial service to a full traditional cremation service; which includes a visitation or public viewing followed by a funeral service. Cremated remains can be placed in an urn and buried or scattered in a cremation garden or placed in a cemetery niche following the funeral service. Choosing cremation does not limit a families options on services that will commemorate the life of their loved one, it actually expands them.
